Man Utd wonderkid Amad Diallo, 18, scores and adds THREE assists in thrilling 6-4 comeback win over Blackburn U23s

AMAD DIALLO was the star of the show as Manchester United Under-23s came from behind to beat Blackburn in a 6-4 thriller.

The Ivorian wonderkid, 18, arrived last month from Atalanta for a fee potentially rising to £37million.

And he gave fans a glimpse of why the Red Devils splashed the cash to recruit him at Leigh Sports Village.

Diallo grabbed THREE assists to help his team recover from a 4-2 deficit and grab all three points in the PL2.

He then put some gloss on the win, bagging a well-taken effort himself with five minutes remaining for Neil Wood’s side.

It was the young Rovers team that took the lead in the 13th minute through Connor McBride, before another United starlet Hannibal Mejbri capped off a slick move to equalise seven minutes later.

Samuel Barnes restored the visitors’ lead just after the half-hour mark – but again it only lasted seven minutes – when Diallo set up Shola Shoretire who restored parity before the break.

A quickfire double from McBride and Jon Nolan saw the Young Devils staring down the barrel of defeat on the hour, before Hannibal, Shoretire, Diallo and Co took control of the game.

Goals two and three of the night for Shoretire, sandwiching a Joe Hugill effort within a crazy five-minute blitz between the 73rd and 78th minute, saw United grab the lead late on.

And Diallo’s left-footed effort capped off an excellent home debut for the new recruit.

United’s Under-23s also notched six in Diallo’s first appearance last week.

The winger bagged twice at Liverpool’s training ground as Wood’s side ran rampant 6-2 against the young Reds.

It could be just a matter of time before a first-team promotion, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having included his new youngster in his Europa League squad.

The impressive win over second-placed Blackburn moved United above Arsenal into sixth in the PL2.

Arsenal were also in action on Friday night, first-teamer Reiss Nelson scoring in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

The Blues are now two points off leaders Man City with a game in hand.
