MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly stepped up their interest in young Brazilian striker Gabriel Veron.
Spanish newspaper Sport claims the Red Devils have moved to the front of the queue for the ace, 18, following his impressive performances with Copa Libertadores finalists Palmeiras.

Veron has eight goals and three assists in 33 games for his club.
And he is valued extremely highly with a £53million release clause in his contract.
However, it’s reckoned Palmeiras are willing to sell Veron for just £18m.
And United are apparently scrabbling to put together an offer to bring him to England.
However, the Red Devils won’t be without competition for Veron’s coveted signature.
Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona are all said to be admirers.
Indeed, Veron is said to favour a move to the Nou Camp should the chance arise.
But much depends on the outcome of the upcoming presidential election, with money already tight in Catalonia.

Palmeiras have experience of dealing with Manchester clubs, having sold Gabriel Jesus to City in 2017 for a club-record £30m.
And United could raise funds by offloading Jesse Lingard, who has just extended his deal by a year to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer this summer.
The midfielder is believed to be a target for Spurs, Sheffield United and West Ham, and could be off before the end of the month.
