LEE DIXON took a swipe at Bruno Fernandes for ‘strolling’ around with ‘zero energy’ as Portugal were thumped by Germany on Saturday.
The Manchester United star, 26, was utterly anonymous as the Germans powered their way to a 4-2 victory in Munich.
Fernandes was hauled off after a miserable hour, replaced by Wolves’ Joao Moutinho, having made absolutely no impact.
Shortly before he was hauled off – with Portugal losing 3-1 – Lee Dixon slated the Red Devils ace for his desperately poor afternoon, taking particular aim at his woeful work-rate.
Speaking on ITV, fuming co-commentator Dixon said: “I think someone needs to tell Fernandes he’s 3-1 down.
“He is just strolling on the ball.
“He had a chance then to run into space and commit a few players ahead of him.
“No energy in his run at all.”
Portugal had taken the lead thanks to a blistering counter-attack, polished off by Cristiano Ronaldo.
But a pair of own goals from Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro put Germany 2-1 up before half-time – creating a piece of tournament history in the process.

Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens both scored early in the second-half to put the game to bed.
Portugal briefly threatened a comeback after Diogo Jota smashed home a Cristiano Ronaldo cross from a yard out.
But in truth, Fernandes and Co were second-best throughout.
In the Group of Death, Portugal may now need a result against reigning world champions France to progress to the last-16, despite winning their tournament opener 3-0 against Hungary.
