BRANDON WILLIAMS is reportedly set to depart Manchester United on loan with Norwich in advanced talks to bring him to Carrow Road.
SunSport exclusively revealed in May how the Canaries were eyeing up a move for the 20-year-old defender.
It is understood that the youngster, who can play at either left-back or right-back, is keen for regular first-team football after limited action at Old Trafford.
Williams featured in just four Premier League games last season with Luke Shaw and Alex Telles preferred instead at left-back.
And his chances of breaking into the starting XI appear slim this term with Diogo Dalot expected to deputise for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Southampton and Newcastle had been keen on the England youth international.
But according to Sky Sports, it is newly-promoted side Norwich that are winning the race to secure his services.
However they state that the deal to take the player to Norfolk is unlikely to be concluded this week.

Williams is now expected to battle for a place in Norwich’s starting XI alongside right-back Max Aarons and Greek left-back Dimitris Giannoulis.
His arrival at Norwich will be the club’s second loan signing of the summer after they brought in central midfielder Billy Gilmour from Chelsea.
And Daniel Farke remains on the lookout for a new centre-back, with free agent Gary Cahill understood to be an option.
Another player that United could be willing to loan out is Ivorian winger Amad Diallo.
It has been claimed that Championship club Sheffield United are interested in the 19-year-old, along with Crystal Palace and Basel.
Diallo appeared in nine games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last term after joining United for £37million from Atalanta.
