GREAL DEAL
Reputable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Jack Grealish will sign for Manchester City.
All of the paperwork has been sorted out for the £100million deal.
And Grealish will sign a contract keeping him at the club until June 2026.
Grealish will have his medical tomorrow morning.
KURT HURT
West Ham will make a bid for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic after talks with Kurt Zouma broke down over wages, writes DUNCAN WRIGHT.
The Hammers wanted Chelsea centre-back Zouma in a £20million deal but the France international discovered they were unwilling to meet his personal demands.
Boss David Moyes will instead push on with his initial interest in Milenkovic, 23, who is valued at £14m by Fiorentina.
The Serbia international only has one year left on his deal with the Serie A club, which is why he is available at such a knockdown price.
Milenkovic is thought to be keen on a move to West Ham, despite interest earlier this summer from Juventus and Tottenham.
Moyes will then focus on landing a new striker.
POG TOP
Paul Pogba is still Man Utd’s most expensive signing to date.
DAMS BUSTER
Tottenham are reportedly plotting moves for Mikkel Damsgaard and Noni Madueke ahead of the new Premier League season, writes MARC MAYO.
While battling the Harry Kane transfer saga on one front, the North London club are also attempting to bolster Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
A £47million bid for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero has been accepted, according to reports, following the additions of Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil.
The Italian goalkeeper started Wednesday’s friendly against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
And Spurs are not done there with Evening Standard naming two targets entering their radar.
Sampdoria winger Damsgaard, 21, has emerged as an option for several clubs including Liverpool and Leeds in recent weeks.
A sterling display at Euro 2020, where he bagged a pair of goals, rounded off a decent first season at Sampdoria which also featured two strikes.
Damsgaard hit a stunning free-kick past England in the semi-finals and is valued at around £42m.
NOA BLIMEY
Leeds are targeting highly rated Club Brugge winger Noa Lang but face competition from Sevilla, according to reports.
The 22-year-old Holland star – who is playing his trade in Belgium – has attracted attention from Leeds as well as Sevilla after scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists in 38 games last season.
Reputable Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Leeds’ interest in the winger on his Twitch stream, saying: “He’s a target, they are talking with his agents but there is no deal agreed or any officials bids yet with Club Brugge.”
But according to ElDesmarque, Sevilla are also targeting Lang despite swapping Bryan Gil for Tottenham’s Erik Lamela.
However, Lang’s price is an issue for the Spanish club with Brugge wanting £17-£21million for their star man.
But Sevilla still have good options in the wide areas should they opt against moving for Lang.
Lamela, Suso, Lucas Ocampos and Oussama Idrissi can all play out wide.
HIGHEST EARNERS
The Premier League has some of the highest earners in world football!
LUKAKU BOOST
Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku is very keen to rejoin Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, Lukaku has told Inter to accept a suitable offer from the Blues.
The west Londoners have made the star striker their top transfer target after missing out on Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.
The Belgium international endured a hapless first stint at Stamford Bridge but it looks like he may get the chance to set the record straight this coming season
MADDISON OPEN
Leicester star James Maddison is open to a potential transfer to Arsenal.
That is according to Sky Sports, who claim that should the Gunners reach a deal with the Foxes then Maddison wouldn’t say no to the north Londoners.
Arsenal have been trying to strike a deal by offering up to four players in exchange for the playmaker.
However, Leicester are insisting on the England international’s £60million release clause
AL IN
Alisson has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Liverpool!
The star goalkeeper said: “I think I didn’t waste too much time to think about that.
“It’s something we just built in those last three years, the confidence, the trust that I have in the club and the club has in myself.
“Me and my family, we are really happy here. My kids are settled in England, in a different country, but they are growing up in that way. So we are really happy.
“I’m really glad that I can keep going on with my work here, doing a good job here. So, I’m really happy to make this decision – that is not hard for me”
TOP SIGN-INGS
Aston Villa have officially landed Southampton star Danny Ings for an undisclosed fee.
Ings has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Villa, who are trying to strengthen as much as possible ahead of Jack Grealish’s imminent departure for Manchester City.
The 29-year-old has joined the likes of Leon Bailey, Emi Buendia and Ashley Young.
Villa manager Dean Smith said: “Danny is an outstanding Premier League footballer who has scored goals wherever he has played.
“He is also a top professional with a great character who will be a leader in our squad and a role model for our rapidly developing young Academy players who are now in and around the first team”
LUKAKU RETURN
Romelu Lukaku could be set for a return to the Premier League two years after leaving Manchester United.
Lukaku has been linked with a stunning transfer to former club Chelsea, who have made him their No1 target.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the striker will agree to make a club-record return if the Blues can agree a deal with Inter Milan.
But it won’t be easy as Inter are reluctant to let the Belgium international go
LUK OUT FOR MORE
Chelsea are offering Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku a higher salary than the one he earned at Manchester United.
Eurosport’s Dean Jones told The Football Terrace: “When Chelsea first touched base with Lukaku about what they’d be offering, Man City were kind of in the conversation as well.
“They’d actually offered more money to Lukaku in terms of an initial financial payment, what his wages would be and so on.
“And so, Chelsea weren’t really in the same ballpark. But, since then, things have changed.
“Chelsea have increased their offer, they’re now willing to pay Lukaku not just more than he’s on at Inter Milan but more than he earned at Manchester United.
“He took a pay cut to go to Inter Milan, at United he was on around £200,000-a-week.
“He’ll be getting more than that if he goes to Chelsea, probably closer to £250,000-a-week from what I’m told.
“This is advancing, this story is moving all the time. Yesterday I took so many calls on it because suddenly it became a live story”
HAALAND EXCITEMENT
Eurosport’s Dean Jones has reported that Manchester United are getting “excited” about Chelsea ending their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
Jones told The Football Terrace: “It hasn’t quite come through as far as Chelsea hoped it would by now, I think it would be fair to say.
“Borussia Dortmund will be closing the door at the end of the week because they need to focus on the new season. Erling Haaland knows that he has so many options open to him next summer.
“Man United, by the way, are becoming quite excited by all this – the fact that Haaland might still be on the market next summer”
MADDISON UPDATE
Arsenal have offered four aces as part of a player-plus-cash deal to Leicester for star midfielder James Maddison.
That is according to Football London, who report that the Gunners are exploring other options to try and lower the Foxes’ £60million price tag.
The north Londoners have offered the likes of Reiss Nelson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah as makeweights in the deal.
However, it is understood that Leicester are not interested in acquiring any of Arsenal’s players, and would prefer a cash only deal for the playmaker, who is keen to move to the Emirates
MAKES SENS
Arsenal are leading the transfer race for Real Madrid ace Marco Asensio, who has also been linked with Tottenham and Liverpool.
Asensio could be sold by Real this summer, as they look to clear some books for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
Los Blancos are hoping to attract interest from the Premier League and it’s working so far as the Gunners, Spurs and Reds are all keeping tabs on the forward.
According to Fichajes, however, it is the north Londoners that have shown the strongest desire to land him.
They also expect the Madrid outfit will ask for £34million for the Spain international
RICE TOUCH
West Ham ace Declan Rice is keeping his options open but won’t force a move away.
Rice has returned to training with the Hammers after an extended break following his exploits at Euro 2020 with England this summer.
The star midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United as well as Chelsea.
According to the Daily Telegraph, however, the 22-year-old is happy enough in east London and won’t try to push for an exit
LUK OUT
Manchester United look set for a financial windfall from a potential transfer involving Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku.
United sold Lukaku to Inter in 2019 after a £74million deal with the Nerazzurri.
The striker is now being targeted by former club Chelsea, who have reportedly made the Belgian their top priority with a bid that could reach £10million.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Red Devils are due around five per cent of any fee Inter get – so that could see them earning £5m in this scenario
ONONO
Ajax goalkeeper and Arsenal target Andre Onana has pulled the plug on his reported move to Lyon.
According to De Telegraaf, Onana has now turned his attention to interest from “bigger clubs”.
However, the Gunners are unlikely to capitalise on this development as they have turned their own focus on homegrown talent.
According to Football London, Sheffield United ace Aaron Ramsdale is now their main target
NOT LAUT OF OFFERS
Inter Milan have received ‘no acceptable offers’ for Arsenal and Tottenham target Lautaro Martinez.
That is according to transfer expert Kristof Terreur, who reports that Lautaro’s release clause hasn’t come close to being triggered.
Inter need to sell one of their stars, and would opt to offload the Argentina international over Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku.
But the Italian champions will need a high bid to let the star striker go in the summer transfer window and seem to prefer straight cash instead of a swap deal
KANE RECAP
Manchester United continue to monitor Tottenham star striker Harry Kane.
Kane was given extra time off after starring for England at Euro 2020 but he failed to report for pre-season training for two consecutive days, leaving Spurs “disappointed”.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils continue to hold an interest in the 28-year-old star striker but would have to fend off rivals City.
Chelsea have also been linked with the England international
MAD MADS
Arsenal have proposed a player-plus-cash bid for Leicester star James Maddison.
According to Football London, the Gunners are lining up a potential swap to get around Maddison’s £60million release clause, which has been deemed excessive.
It has not yet been confirmed who will be offered up as a makeweight but the Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah have all been touted.
However, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is not keen on letting the England international go under any circumstances
SANCHO ARRIVAL
Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho is expected to link up with his new team on Friday.
That is according to the Manchester Evening News, who report that Sancho will start training with United in two days.
The winger joined the Red Devils after a £72.9million transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
The England international has been on extended holiday this summer after Euro 2020
GO GET HIM
Real Madrid have joined Manchester United in the transfer race for Leon Goretzka.
That is according to Manchester Evening News, who report that a bid for Goretzka won’t be easy.
The Red Devils are likely to move for a new midfielder as Paul Pogba’s future has been cast into doubt.
Declan Rice has been touted as a potential target but West Ham are not keen on letting him go
HAALAND RETREAT
Chelsea have given up on their pursuit to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland this summer.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that the Blues have turned their focus on Romelu Lukaku.
Haaland was the west Londoners’ top target but an agreement was always going to be difficult following the departure of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United.
It would have also taken an astronomical fee for Thomas Tuchel’s side to land the 21-year-old this month.
The Norway international has also been linked with United, who could try and trigger his £68million asking price that becomes active next summer
GREALISH PLAN
Manchester City are hoping to finalise the transfer of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish as soon as possible.
If everything goes to plan then Grealish is expected to swiftly agree personal terms and take a medical, according to The Athletic.
Nevertheless, this record-breaking move is indeed on the verge to be finalised.
The versatile playmaker would become the most expensive British player of all time after eclipsing Gareth Bale’s £85m move from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2013.
It would also beat the Premier League record that belongs to Paul Pogba following his £89m transfer from Juventus to Manchester United in 2016
