PEEEEEP! SECOND HALF UNDERWAY
TIGHT AT THE TOP
The race for the top four has had plenty of drama in the opening 45 minutes.
As it stands, Leicester miss out on a European spot due to goal difference.
TEAM TALK
Liverpool took their time getting into the game, gifting Townsend and Zaha far too much space.
They could easily have gone a goal or two down if Townsend’s shots had had a little more oomph behind them.
But Liverpool settled into the game and became very threatening with wave after wave of attack.
Mane gifted them the lead in the first half, meaning Liverpool are the only side, vying for a European spot, that are ahead at the break.

49. Mane sprays the ball from left-to-right wing to pick out Salah.
Impressive first touch from Salah, with the inside of his right foot, allows him to side-step Palace’s defence.

48. The latest twist and turn is that Chelsea have fallen a goal behind to Villa thanks to Traore.
It’s getting more and more interesting…

46. It’s wave after wave of Liverpool attack.
From the centre circle, Fabinho intercepts a sloppy Palace pass.
He picks out Mane on the left with a lovely through ball, but Mane tries to backheel the ball to Robertson on the overlap allowing Tomkins to intercept it.

45. Five additional minutes at the end of the first half.

Elsewhere, Williams is down receiving treatment after clashing heads with Kouyate.
The Liverpool medical team are wrapping up a second players’ head.
LIVERPOOL 1-0 CRYSTAL PALACE
35. It’s scrappy from Liverpool, but a goal is a goal!
A corner is whipped in by Robertson and glanced backwards, at the near post, by Phillips.
A spot of ping-pong ensues before Firmino taps it through to Mane at the far post who drills it home.
That has settled a few nerves and with the goals as they stand, Chelsea are out of Europe (of course, there’s still plenty of time to go)!

25. Robertson tries to fire a ball across the box to Salah on the right, but he overcooks it and it flies out for a goal kick.
Better from Liverpool who moved the ball around quickly in the build up to that – feels as though every player in a red shirt got a touch to it.
LIVERPOOL 0-0 CRYSTAL PALACE
22. Thiago sends a delicious ball over the top to pick out a running Salah on the right.
He breaks into the box and races towards goal with a diagonal run but he fires his shot straight at an outstretched Guaita.
Mane was square and unmarked, Salah would have been better to have slipped it to him instead of trying to do the Palace keeper at the near post.
