LIVERPOOL youngster Ben Woodburn has joined Hearts in a season-long loan move.
The 21-year-old, who’s made 11 starts for the Reds since arriving in 2016, made the switch in order to get some more games and experience under his belt, Liverpool said on their website.
But the midfielder does seem to have a future with the Kop giants and was a substitute in their 3-0 win over Norwich on the opening day of the season.
And his previous performances have been praised by Kop boss Jurgen Klopp and his assistant Pepijn Lijnders.
Woodburn’s already written himself into the Reds’ history books when he became the club’s youngest scorer ever after hitting the net against Leeds in the League Cup when he joined five years ago.
Despite Woodburn’s glowing start to his Reds career, he can’t wait to hit the ground running at Hearts, and to win over the club’s supporter’s hearts at the same time.
Speaking on his Scottish switch, he said: “I’m delighted to be here and get the deal done.
“It’s been a couple of weeks now that I’ve known Hearts were interested and now I’m here I just can’t wait to get started.

“It just looks like a massive club. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans and see the atmosphere.
“I’m buzzing to be here and hopefully I can prove to them (the fans) that I can be a great player for you.”
But Woodburn wasn’t the only Reds player to be saying his goodbyes this week.
Klopp’s club also got rid of outcast Xherdan Shaqiri, who joined Lyon on Monday.
The Swiss midfielder, 29, penned a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 side after they splashed out £9.5million on him.
And their sporting director Juninho was over the moon to get the move over the line.
He said: “We have been speaking with him for a long time. We needed this sort of player.
“He is a competitor, we saw that during the Euros. He will bring a lot to the table.”
