Jude Bellingham celebrates historic Euro 2020 cap in tweet exchange with Oasis legend Liam Gallagher

JUDE BELLINGHAM capped a record-breaking day for England by celebrating on Twitter with Liam Gallagher.

The Oasis legend, 48, had posted the phrase ‘Hey Jude’ just after watching the young midfielder make his Euro 2020 bow on Sunday.

And 17-year-old Bellingham sent back ‘Hey Liam’ in reply, much to the delight of his fans.

Manchester City devotee Gallagher had provided entertaining updates to his 3.5million followers throughout the clash with Croatia.

At half-time and with the game 0-0, he called for Sergio Aguero to be given a chance to score for the Three Lions and tweeted: “Get Sergio on.”

But Raheem Sterling’s winner earned ‘C’mon Raheem’ and ‘It’s coming home’ remarks from the singer.

Gallagher posted a cheeky selfie after the opener but was left furious at City starlet Phil Foden’s booking with the score at 1-0.

He tweeted: “That’s not a yellow you s*** house.”

On 82 minutes, Borussia Dortmund star Bellingham replaced Harry Kane to become the youngest player to ever appear at a European Championship.

What’s more, at 17 years and 349 days old, he is now also the youngest England international to play at a major tournament.

And he threw himself into the action, winning possession twice and touching the ball ten times in ten minutes.

Croatia were chasing the game throughout his runout yet Bellingham still produced four successful passes from five attempts.

Bellingham will hope to start in England’s game against Scotland on Friday but Kalvin Phillips’ star performance on Sunday should guarantee his place.

Manager Gareth Southgate said: “We are going to need all those attacking players through the tournament. We can make changes and we will need to.

“The key was to get pressure on Croatia’s midfield players and we managed to do that. That limited some of the supply and the defenders dealt with the longer balls well and read the game well.

“It was a day when everybody who got onto the pitch performed well and that was set up by the whole group.”
