Jose Mourinho will be showered with job offers with Brazilian club already interested after Tottenham axe, says Rivaldo

JOSE MOURINHO will be showered with job offers following his Tottenham sacking and could take over at a team in Brazil, according to Rivaldo.

The Portuguese boss, 58, was given the boot by Spurs on Monday and is already being linked with a host of jobs.

Rivaldo told Betfair he can’t see Mourinho being out of the game for long with his history

Celtic and Valencia are just two clubs strongly linked with a move for the Special One after he revealed he wants to get straight back into football.

And Rivaldo isn’t surprised by Mourinho being in demand already.

Rivaldo told Betfair: “Mourinho was sacked from Tottenham on Monday despite having the chance to claim the EFL Cup on Sunday.

“I think the Spurs board preferred to take immediate action on the back of the club not showing improvement going into the end of the season.

“I’m his friend and consider Jose Mourinho a great person and a fantastic manager with nothing to prove.

“His phone should start ringing soon with new offers.”

But Rivaldo reckons now is the time for Mourinho to work his magic in South America.

Mourinho has never managed outside of Europe having held positions in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain.

And Rivaldo claimed: “I have heard about a potential move to a Brazilian club.

“This could be the perfect opportunity for a Brazilian club to try to make that huge signing.

“It would be a nice experience for Mourinho after so many years in Europe to try to impose his mastery on South America.”

Academy product Ryan Mason, 29, has taken over as Tottenham manager until the end of the season.

But Spurs are hoping to bring in RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann, with Leicester chief Brendan Rodgers distancing himself from the position.

But for Mourinho, he is set to hold a meeting with Valencia owner Peter Lim this week.

Lim has already spoken with the manager’s agent, Jorge Mendes, about a possible move.

The ambitious Valencia chief sees Mourinho as the perfect man to help them break back into Europe’s elite after a tricky few years.
