JOAO CANCELO will be part of Manchester City’s squad for their trip to Arsenal – despite being ROBBED earlier this week.
The Portuguese defender revealed on social media this week that he and his family were the subjects of a brutal robbery.
It was thought Cancelo – who was left with a big gash above his right eyebrow – would opt to remain with his family following the horrific ordeal.
But SunSport understands the full-back has decided to travel to London for City’s New Year’s Day clash with the Gunners.
Cancelo, 27, shared details of the terrifying robbery with his two million Instagram followers, revealing he attempted to fight off FOUR thugs hellbent on stealing his valuables.
He wrote: “Unfortunately today I was assaulted by four cowards who hurt me and tried to hurt my family.
“When you show resistance this is what happens.
“They managed to take all my jewellery and leave me with my face in this state.

“Firm and strong, like always.”
Police are currently investigating the incident, which Premier League leaders City issued a stern statement on.
It read: “We are shocked and appalled that Joao Cancelo and his family were subjected to a burglary at their home this evening during which Joao was also assaulted.
“Joao and his family are being supported by the club and he is helping the police with their enquiries as they investigate this very serious matter.”
