HARRY KANE had a classy strike ruled out for offside by VAR at Leeds as Tottenham fans raged: “He was level.”
The England ace was played through by Dele Alli and dinked the ball over Illan Meslier but VAR said no despite no clear evidence suggesting it should have been ruled out.
Spurs were drawing 1-1 after Son Heung-min’s effort cancelled out Stuart Dallas’ opener.
And the North Londoners were in the ascendancy when Kane put the ball into the net.
To be fair to the officials, in real time the Three Lions star looked miles offside as he was played through.
The linesman put his flag up and all the Leeds defenders appealed for offside.
But as has been the case on circa 5million occasions this season, the VAR images only served to confuse the issue.
As the customary digital lines were drawn on the screen, Kane’s left toe appeared level with the defender’s heel.
But sure enough, the goal was ruled out.
And Spurs fans were fuming online.

Anthony tweeted: “Football is dead. You just know this is how the CL final will be won. One of these on minute 90+7.”
Hutchins added: “Can’t stand Spurs but this is level. Change the rule or bin VAR.”
Gumbo added: “VAR is madness sometimes.”
And Daily Hotspur chimed in with: “THFC striker Harry Kane adjudged as being offside despite being level with the last Leeds United defender.”
