GRANIT XHAKA reached out to a gutted Gooner who only found out Arsenal’s games with Wolves was postponed as he was boarding a flight to the UK.
Jack Robinson booked a trip from the USA to London for the game as part of his 10th wedding anniversary celebrations and was devastated to learn the match had been axed.
The Emirates clash became the latest Prem game to be called off because of Covid.
An outbreak of cases in Wolves’ squad, combined with several injuries to their players, has seen the fixture pushed back to the new year.
Robinson and his wife Heather were sat on the runway about to take off from St Louis, Missouri for the trip they had arranged six months earlier when the crushing news broke.
A distraught Robinson tweeted: “This one hurts so bad.
“I have had this planned and booked for well over six months.
“First the summer tour was cancelled on me now this game, lost for words, sick.

“It’s me and my wife’s 10-year anniversary, and I wanted to show her something special, something she can remember forever.”
However, having seen the tweet, Swiss midfielder Xhaka reached out to Robinson with some festive cheer, as revealed by Football London.
He direct messaged the dedicated Gooner and wrote: “Hi Jack.
“I just got home from the game [against Norwich] and I have seen your tweets that you and your wife were flying over from America for our game against Wolves.
“I could see you were upset about the game being cancelled as you had waited a long time to fly over to watch us.
“If you are still in London on January 1, I’d like to invite you to the Arsenal vs Manchester City game as my guest to thank you for your dedication to Arsenal.
“Would that be good for you?
“Granit.”
Robinson was overwhelmed and has since thanked Xhaka and other Gunners fans for their support.
LATEST GAME AXED
The Premier League accepted Wolves’ request to postpone the game.
It’s the second festive Wolves fixture to be pulled after their Boxing Day game vs Watford was also axed because of case numbers in the Hornets’ squad.
Arsenal said: “We are disappointed to announce our Premier League fixture against Wolves on Tuesday December 28 has been postponed due to a number of the Wolves squad testing positive for Covid-19.
“This game will be rescheduled in due course and any tickets and/or hospitality packages purchased for this fixture will be valid for the rescheduled date.
“We apologise to our fans for any disappointment and inconvenience caused.
“Thank you for your support.”
Hwang Hee-chan, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Willy Boly are all currently out injured.
And Wolves are also without longer-term stricken stars Pedro Neto, Jonny Castro Otto and Yerson Mosquera.

The Midlands side haven’t played since a 0-0 draw with Chelsea on December 19.
Fabio Silva and Mosquera both tested positive before that one.
But there have been a number of further cases in recent days.
