FRUSTRATED Dean Henderson wants showdown talks with Ralf Rangnick, according to reports.

The Manchester United goalkeeper has featured just twice this season.

And it is that lack of playing time that he wants to address in his sit-down with Rangnick.

According to the Daily Mail, Henderson ‘regrets’ signing his bumper new contract at Old Trafford in 2020, which saw his wages increase to at least £100,000 per week.

And even though Rangnick would be unlikely to let him leave in January, the No2 choice clearly wants to make his feelings heard.

Henderson enjoyed successful loans with Sheffield United between 2018 and 2020 before making 26 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season.

That included 13 in the Premier League as David De Gea struggled for form.

However, the Spaniard has been back near his best this term with a number of crucial saves and has regained his status as the undisputed first-choice stopper.

Henderson’s own situation has not been helped by an injury forcing him out of Euro 2020 before difficulties with Covid in the summer.

And now he is weighing up his options – first wanting to talk to his interim boss.

The United academy graduate played 90 minutes in September’s 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham.

He then started the Champions League dead rubber at home to Young Boys.

But in a game that saw a bunch of academy players given a first-team run-out, Rangnick also hooked Henderson off midway through the second half as Tom Heaton made his debut.

Ajax have been linked with making a transfer swoop for the one-cap England international in January, possibly on loan.

Club chief and United legend Edwin van der Sar is a big admirer of Henderson and the Amsterdam outfit will be in need of a new man between the sticks if they decide to get rid of Andre Onana.

However, Rangnick wants three senior goalkeepers at his disposal so is likely to stick with De Gea, Henderson and Heaton for the duration of his interim reign.

As well as Henderson, the report adds Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek have also been left concerned about their futures after being overlooked by Solskjaer and failing to win over Rangnick just yet.
