However, it was Ozil’s rendition of the song on Sunday that got people talking.
The ex-Arsenal playmaker, 32, famously refused to sing the Germany national anthem during his 92 matches for his country.
Ozil claimed he preferred to pray while his team-mates were belting out their rendition of Deutschlandlied.
The midfielder caused a stir during his full debut for new club Fenerbahce a little over a week ago.
Ahead of the clash with Fatih Karagumruk, Ozil failed to sign along to the Turkish national anthem.
Bild claim Ozil was criticised by fans for failing to join in, despite having famously always avoided a pre-match singalong.
Just a week later, the former Gunners ace was seen moving his lips in time to the Turkish national anthem ahead of the 1-0 defeat at home to Goztepe.

The midfielder cited racism as his reason for quitting, believing he was made a scapegoat for his nation’s flop in Russia.
Ozil had posed for photos with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the run-up to the tournament, with some fans accusing him of lacking loyalty to Germany.
After signing for Fenerbahce, Ozil was asked if he’d ever consider a return to international duty.
But the player refused, saying: “When I go down a path, I never turn back. So, no.
“I wish the German national team success, but I will never play for them again.”
