Everton crisis with FIVE players including James Rodriguez in isolation and ruled out of Southampton clash

EVERTON’s opening Premier League fixture against Southampton has been thrown into chaos with five stars having to isolate due to Covid-19.

Toffees boss Rafa Benitez broke the devastating news in today’s press conference ahead of the clubs game against Southampton tomorrow.

One of the names missing off of the team sheet is want-away star James Rodriguez.

He’s joined by Moise Kean, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin on that list.

Benitez revealed to the Everton fans that he spoke to Rodriguez about not featuring in the game.

He said: “I had my conversation with him at the beginning and he knows my idea.

“But obviously now he is not available so it is not an issue for tomorrow.”

Even if the Colombian wasn’t isolating he may not have featured in the game.

Benitez has already revealed that Rodriguez isn’t part of his plans this season and that he can leave the club.

The 30-year-old also seems resigned to the fact that his Goodison Park exit is imminent.

While speaking to fans on Twitch, he said: “With my future I’m seeing what happens, football changes a lot every day.

“I can’t assure you anything. It can change a lot in hours.”

But the ex-Real Madrid star is yet to find a potential suitor after AC Milan ended their interest in him.
