MANCHESTER UNITED’S Eric Bailly is reportedly wanted by Inter Milan – if the centre-back snubs an Old Trafford contract extension.
The disgruntled Ivorian’s current deal expires at the end of next season but SunSport revealed he was planning to reject new terms.
Bailly was fuming when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer overlooked him for the second leg of the Europa League tie against AC Milan and told pals he would not put pen to paper on a 12-month extension he was due to agree last month.
And The Daily Record reports Inter are looking to take advantage of Bailly’s situation at United.
The Serie A leaders are poised to end Juventus’ decade of dominance in the Italian league as they sit five points clear of city rivals AC Milan at the top.
The report states United value Bailly at around £17million but Inter will try to negotiate the price down.
Bailly was reportedly concerned that Red Devils bosses wanted him to sign on to inflate any potential transfer fee.
The 26-year-old ace has grown frustrated at Solskjaer favouring Swede Victor Lindelof alongside £85m captain Harry Maguire.
Bailly played in the first leg of the AC Milan tie, with Lindelof managing a back complaint, but is reported to have argued with the Norwegian after being demoted for the crucial return fixture.
Despite the fact he is believed to have apologised, Bailly was left out of the matchday squad and has not played for the club since.

Significant progress had been made in negotiations – which were put on hold over the international break – but Bailly’s future now seems to lie away from Carrington.
He has struggled with form and fitness since arriving from Villarreal for £30m in 2016 – featuring for just 637 minutes of Prem action in this campaign.
Bailly has only managed 100 games in five seasons for United with Solskjaer electing to start the Ivory Coast international in just 11 Prem games in the last two years.
If a deal was to go ahead, Antonio Conte would add yet another United man to his San Siro contingent.
Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku and former skipper Ashley Young have rocked up at the club across the last two summers, while Alexis Sanchez joined after an initial loan move.
United are understood to be seeking another centre-back to partner Maguire in the long-term with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic all mentioned.
