CHELSEA could struggle to finish in the TOP HALF of the Premier League if these alarming stats are anything to go by.
The abject Blues were beaten by Leicester on Tuesday night as their alarming slide down the table continued.
Chelsea dropped to eighth – nine points off leaders Leicester – and have one of their lowest points totals at the halfway stage in Prem history.
They have only picked up less than this season’s total of 29 points from 19 games on five occasions.
And four of those times they have failed to finish above 10th in the Prem.
Back in 1993-94, the Blues picked up 15 points from 19 games and ended up finishing 14th.

The following two seasons they finished 11th on both occasions after collecting 28 points from the first 19 matches.
And five years ago the Blues finished 10th in the league after 20 points at this stage of the season.
And Tuesday’s 2-0 loss meant Chelsea have still failed to beat any top-eight side this season.
That’s despite having spent £220m in the summer bringing in the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

Frank Lampard’s men have kept just five clean sheets in 29 Premier League away games during his reign.
That is the lowest percentage of any Chelsea manager (17 per cent).
Lampard is now heavy favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked.
A dismal defeat at Leicester leaves the club legend under serious pressure – and just 8/11 to go.
Lampard will know all too well how notoriously ruthless Roman Abramovich is as an owner.
The Russian has shown no hesitation in swinging the axe on numerous managers during Lampard’s playing days.
And the bookies believe Lampard’s fate could be inevitable if he doesn’t turn around their form quickly.
A Betfair spokesperson said: “Frank Lampard was 7/2 to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post before kick-off this evening.
“Following another disappointing defeat and performance, he is the new odds-on favourite at 8/11 to be the next to go.”
