CRISTIANO RONALDO’S mum has declared her grandson is better than his dad was at the same age.
Cristiano Jr – or Cristianinho as he is affectionately known – is apparently progressing so fast as he has his superstar dad for a coach.
And the 11-year-old dreams of following in his dad’s footsteps by one day playing for Sporting Lisbon – something gran Dolores Aveiro hopes to see before her time is up.
“Ronaldo has to come back (to Sporting), for me he’d be here,” Aveiro told the ADN de Leao podcast.
“He likes to watch Sporting’s games. I’ve already told him: ‘Son, before I die I want to see you return to Sporting.’
“Let’s see…”, he said, but if it isn’t [him], it’s Cristianinho!
“At his age, he plays better than Ronaldo. At the time, Ronaldo didn’t have a coach, but today Ronaldo is his son’s teacher.”
Cristiano Jr is currently training in United’s academy alongside Kai Rooney, son of Ronaldo’s former strike partner Wayne.

The Portuguese youngster was previously part of the Juventus set-up when his dad was playing in Turin.
But Dolores revealed her grandson hopes to emulate his dad by one day turning out in the famous green and white of Sporting.
She said of Cristiano Jr: “‘Dad, when we move to Lisbon I want to play for Sporting’.
“Now it’s starting at Manchester. Seeing the two of them together at Sporting was my dream, it was spectacular.”
Dolores is a central figure in the Ronaldo camp and was seen sobbing with joy after her son made a goal-scoring return to Old Trafford after 12 years away.
The 66-year-old could not hold back the tears following Ronaldo’s double in his second debut at the club earlier this month.
