Cristiano Ronaldo and Florentino Perez repair relationship as Juventus star ‘still feels connection to Real Madrid’

CRISTIANO RONALDO has reportedly repaired his relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

And the Juventus star, 35, ‘still feels a connection’ to his old club – two-and-a-half years after his shock exit.

Marca claims Bernabeu chief Perez paid a visit to Juventus’ training ground this week after tensions eased between the pair.

Ronaldo’s Real exit in 2018 saw his relationship with Perez break down entirely.

But the Portuguese superstar extended an olive branch in March last year when he made an appearance in the stands for the Clasico against Barcelona.

Ronaldo and Perez have apparently been talking regularly since.

And it marks a dramatic U-turn after they looked to have burnt their bridges.

Speaking after completing his £88m Juventus switch in 2018, Ronaldo said: “I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start.

“In the first four or five years there I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’.

“The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean.

“That’s what made me think about leaving. Sometimes I’d look at the news, where they were saying I was asking to leave.

“There was a bit of that but the truth is I always had the impression the president would not hold me back.”

Indeed, Perez is now said to regret selling Ronaldo and acknowledges that no matter how much money has since been spent, nobody can replace him.

Likewise, Ronaldo also still feels a special bond with the Bernabeu, and both club and player are yet to get their hands on another Champions League trophy since his departure.

The report concludes there was no indication of transfer talk between Ronaldo and Perez, but a reunion in the near future can not be ruled out.

Ronaldo’s nine years at Real became the stuff of legend after he scored 450 goals in just 438 games.

Ronaldo won four Champions Leagues and two LaLiga titles for Los Blancos, while also picking up four Ballon d’Ors for his personal trophy cabinet.”
