CHELSEA are preparing to open contract talks with Jorginho, according to reports.
The Blues midfielder has enjoyed a fine revival since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in January.
And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, he looks on course to be rewarded with a new deal.
The journalist adds that the Italian star wants to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
Jorginho, 29, arrived alongside Maurizio Sarri in 2018 for £57million.
His £110,000-a-week, five-year deal expires in June 2023.
This term he has chipped in with seven goals in 37 appearances as Chelsea look to close in on a top-four finish and contest the FA Cup and Champions League finals.
And his formidable partnership with N’Golo Kante in recent weeks helped fire the Blues into the European showpiece in Istanbul.
Jorginho wore the captain’s armband for the final minutes at Stamford Bridge against Real Madrid.
And he was on the verge of tears when the full-time whistle blew.

The ex-Napoli man admitted earlier this season he wants to return to his former club ‘one day’.
But for now he is committed to Chelsea, especially with Tuchel in charge and getting the best out of his Brazil-born ace.
Jorginho launched a stinging attack on former boss Lampard last month – claiming he was never close to being ready to take charge of a club like Chelsea.
Speaking to ESPN Brazil he said: “Look, I’ll be really sincere here on Lampard.
“I believe, given he was a legend at the club, he skipped some steps necessary for learning before moving to a big club.
“He came to a club where he is a legend, without having experience at other clubs.
“I think he came too soon, skipped a few steps ahead and wasn’t ready for a job at this level, to be honest.”
