Rivaldo reckons a move to Man City would be better for Veron in the long run
Barcelona had also been keen on Veron, 18, before pulling out of the race as they couldn’t compete financially.
Now Brazil legend Rivaldo has claimed Veron should link up with Pep Guardiola and NOT Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the good of his career.
Rivaldo told Betfair: “There are strong rumours that Manchester United and Manchester City are chasing Gabriel Veron’s signing from Palmeiras.
“I think whoever wins this particular fight will be properly rewarded.

“Veron has lots of talent and a bright future ahead so it’s no coincidence to see two big English clubs chasing him.
“He could perform for either club without problems.
“If he has the choice between the two clubs, I suggest City.
“They are the more stable club nowadays, with a solid tactical system implemented by Pep Guardiola.

“[That] is not the case with Manchester United, despite also being a fantastic club.”
Veron has bagged nine goals and three assists in 34 appearances for Palmeiras this season.
The teenager – who can play through the middle or on the wings – is under contract until 2025 and has a release clause of £52m.
Palmeiras are believed to be willing to sell for as low as £17.5m, but are hoping to command a fee of closer to £30m.
Veron has been likened to Gabriel Jesus – who also took the leap from Palmeiras to Man City himself in 2017.
