Aston Villa 1 Brentford 1: Ivan Toney’s first Premier League goal helps Bees extend unbeaten start to season

IVAN TONEY netted his first Premier League goal as Brentford extended their unbeaten start to the season.

The Bees held their own to claim a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa to continue their impressive form since winning promotion.

The Bees opened the scoring in the seventh minute after Toney finished following impressive build-up play from Sergi Canos and Pontus Jansson.

But Villa responded strongly and equalised after 14 minutes when Danny Ings set up Emi Buendia and the summer signing fired into the top corner.

The teams cancelled each other out after the break with Villa struggling to break Thomas Frank’s side down.

And Brentford deserved their point as they made it three games without defeat at the start of their first Premier League campaign.
