Arsenal ‘to rival Liverpool and PSG for Karim Adeyemi transfer but RB Salzburg will NOT sell star striker until summer’

ARSENAL target Karim Adeyemi isn’t going anywhere until the summer, according to RB Salzburg president Harald Lurzerg.

The Gunners reportedly want the £18million wonderkid as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette up front.

Karim Adeyemi was called up to the Germany squad in September

Boss Mikel Arteta is thought to be keen on a January move as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain also track the 19-year-old.

But Austrian Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig have said they only expect their man to leave next summer.

Lurzerg told Bild podcast Bayern Insider: “We are aware that Karim will probably take the next step next summer.”

His interview did contain a boost for Arsenal as he vowed not to put ‘any obstacles in the way’ of a possible move.

Arteta is set to lose Lacazette for free at the end of the season as the striker enters the final months on his £200,000-a-week contract.

The 30-year-old will be able to speak to foreign clubs as early as January and the likes of Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Marseille are thought to be circling.

Adeyemi is tipped to follow in the footsteps of former Salzburg prodigy Erling Haaland and make his mark at one of Europe’s heavyweight clubs.

The striker has already notched 14 goals this season and made his goalscoring international debut in September.

The Munich-born youngster has spoken of his admiration for Dortmund powerhouse Haaland – who left Salzburg in January last year.

He told Sport 1: “Haaland is doing a great job at Borussia Dortmund, he has developed very well and has grown in many areas.

“I can cut a slice of that for myself. But I can’t compare myself to Haaland and go my own way.”
