ARSENAL star Cedric Soares is poised to begin next season with a smile on his face … after an exotic holiday with his stunning missus.
The 29-year-old was not named in Fernando Santos’ Portugal squad for their country’s unsuccessful attempt to defend their Euros title.
But SunSport previously reported that Cedric softened the blow of his snub by jetting off to the Maldives with his wife Filipa Brandao.
The couple became parents last November, welcoming daughter Siena after having kept Filipa’s pregnancy secret.
Portuguese beauty Filipa, 31, and left-back Cedric have now returned from a lavish beach vacation.

She posted a series of holiday snaps on Instagram, some showing her footballer husband but a number of her alone.
They drew a series of delighted reactions, with one fan gasping: “That’s the way to break social media!”
Another said: “Gives me goosebumps”, while a third simply added: “beautiful!”
In the pictures, Filipa and Cedric are seen relaxing on a boat, at a beach and in a luxury hotel while they also took advantage of the sea hammocks.
Germany-born Cedric spent four and a half seasons with Southampton, scoring three goals in 138 games, before joining Arsenal on loan.
The Gunners made his Emirates Stadium move permanent last summer.
He has since made 29 appearances and lifted the Community Shield following Arsenal’s penalty shoot-out win over Liverpool.
The defender won his 34th Portugal cap against Serbia in March – his first call-up in two years.
