TOTTENHAM have joined the race for Arsenal target Houssem Aouar, according to reports.
SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month that the Gunners are readying another bid for the Lyon midfielder
Arsenal wanted to sign Aouar last summer, but weren’t willing to match Lyon’s £55million asking price.
But after the Ligue 1 side failed to qualify for the Champions League, he could be available this time around for just £20m, with a £100,000-a-week contract being readied.
Unfortunately for the Gunners, however, rivals Spurs are reportedly entering the race.
Aouar thrived alongside Tottenham’s record signing Tanguy Ndombele at Lyon between 2017 and 2019.
And the pair could be reunited at Spurs.
According to the Mirror, new Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici has identified Aouar as one of his key summer targets this year.
Aouar, 22, is renowned as one of Europe’s most talented young midfielders.

He bagged eight goals for Lyon in 33 appearances last season.
And he has already made 170 outings for his boyhood club in total.
Aouar was handed his senior international debut by Didier Deschamps last year, providing two assists in a 7-1 rout of Ukraine.
But this summer he was selected for France’s Under-21s instead of the senior side.
Speaking ahead of Lyon’s final day clash with Nice last month, Aouar admitted: “This could be my last game for the club.”
