Arsenal fans beg Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote – worth £8.3bn – to buy club from Kroenke after 2021 takeover hint

ARSENAL fans are desperate for Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote to buy the club following Stan Kroenke’s involvement in the disastrous European Super League.

The Gunners put out a statement last night apologising for signing up to Florentino Perez’s controversial brainchild following a huge backlash from the greater footballing world.

And the spotlight is now on American owner Kroenke, believed to be one of the main ESL instigators.

Loyal Gooners are desperate for a new leader to take the club forward.

And some are holding out for Dangote to step forward after hinting last year that he could make an offer in 2021.

The magnate, worth £8.3billion, invested in an oil refinery and claimed it would be operational this year, allowing him to focus on new projects which could include buying Arsenal.

Dangote said in January 2020: “It is a team that yes, I would like to buy some day.

“I’m trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe some time in 2021, we can.

“I’m not buying Arsenal right now, I’m buying Arsenal when I finish all these projects because I’m trying to take the company to the next level.”

And Gunners supporters are hoping Dangote can soon replace Kroenke at the head of the table.
