GUNNERS WANTED AGUERO
Sergio Aguero was wanted by Arsenal and Chelsea before he agreed to join Barcelona.
That is according to the striker’s father, who made the claim to Radio La Red.
Leonel del Castillo said: “There were several clubs interested in signing him. Arsenal were interested in him and Chelsea to the last minute.
“If he didn’t stay in England, it was going to be Italy or Spain.
“He is happy right now after signing for Barcelona. I see him happy.
“He’s been friends with Lionel Messi since they were 15 and they’ve always talked. It looks like Messi is going to stay at Barcelona so they’re going to play together.”
MATTEO’S STRIFE ON MARS
Arsenal have reportedly threatened to trigger an extension in Matteo Guendouzi’s contract, if Marseille don’t stump up more than £8.6million.
The Frenchman has been in Gunners exile, since falling out with Mikel Arteta during the back end of the 2019-20 season, yet still has value in the market.
Marseille are keen on France youth international Guendouzi, and are willing to spend £8.6m on the North London outcast.
Arsenal, however, have a trick up their sleeve. The Gunners possess an option to extend Guendouzi’s contract by a further year to June 2023, a scenario that would suit neither party.
But according to Le10Sport, they are threatening to do so if L’OM don’t pay up.
ARD CHOICE TO MAKE
Inter Milan have reportedly entered the race for Odsonne Edouard.

Chelsea were linked with Aubameyang last summer before he signed a new £350,000-a-week contract.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Fan favourite Lukas Podolski turns 35 today.
In three years with the Gunners, he fired home 31 goals and helped lift the 2014 FA Cup.

COACH BENDTNER
Nicklas Bendtner has explained his move into coaching after retiring from the game aged 33.
The Dane played over 100 games for Arsenal and is now aiming to start a new career.
He told Discovery’s Bendtner & Philine show: “I miss [playing] every day, but I am also aware that there is an end date in this job.
“I think I’ll spend a lot of time understanding that it’s really over now. Now I will find something else that gives me what football has given me in all the years.
“Football is a big part of my life and I cannot leave it. That is why I am in the process of taking the coaching education.
“I hope it will give me as much or maybe more than it did as a player. That way, I will always be a part of football.”
NETFLIX AND CEL
Lille defender Zeki Celik is on the radars of Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal.
That is according to Evening Standard, who claim the right-back would cost just £13million this summer.

Likewise, Spurs are likely to lose Serge Aurier after he expressed his desire for a move.
GUNNERS TRIBUTE
Arsenal have released a statement following the death of former goalkeeper Alan Miller.
Former England youth international Miller came through the ranks at Highbury before making a handful of first-team appearances and enjoying a successful career with a number of clubs.
SEA IT AINT SO
Sead Kolasinac will NOT sign permanently for Schalke following his loan spell with the German club.
The left-back now returns to Arsenal having been part of a side relegated from the Bundesliga.
Schalke held a £7.2million purchase clause in the deal but sporting director Peter Knabel has confirmed the player’s exit.
He said: “This decision hurts us both in sport and human terms.
“In view of the current budget and squad structure – all the known and publicly discussed challenges – there was no alternative.
“We have to be so honest. In view of the short preparation and the early start of the season, we cannot afford a week-long hang-up game either, but have to make decisions for Schalke 04 now.
“That’s why we decided on this clear cut.”
FLORIDA CALLING
Arsenal will face Inter Milan in a pre-season friendly tournament.
The Florida Cup, held at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium, will feature the Gunners, Everton, Colombian side Millonarios, and the Nerazzurri.

BUEN-OS DIAS
Excited for maybe having this talent in your squad next season, Gooners?
GOOD MORNING ARSENAL FANS
Arsenal and Aston Villa have made official bids for Norwich’s £40million-rated winger Emi Buendia.
Both clubs, who are offering packages worth £30m-plus, are now locked in a major fight for the Argentine winger who is now certain to leave Carrow Road.
But Norwich, who do not need to sell financially, are playing hard ball and insist they want £40m for the Championship player of the year.
Buendia could replace Martin Odegaard, who has revealed he has a good relationship with Carlo Ancelotti as he prepares to return to Real Madrid to reunite with his former boss.
The Norwegian was still on the fringes of the senior side during Ancelotti’s time at the club before leaving on loan but he still managed to build a relationship with the Italian.
He told TV 2 Sport: “It is a coach I know and with whom I had a good relationship when he was last there.
“In that sense, it is positive. But beyond that, one day has passed, so I do not know too much about what he thinks about things.”
In more positive news, the Gunners reportedly remain fully confident Emile Smith Rowe will pen a new deal at the Emirates despite reported interest from Aston Villa.
With his current contract to expire in 2023, it has been claimed that the North Londoners are keen to hand him a new five-year deal.
But shock rumours have stated that Villa are looking to lure him to the Midlands.
However, Football.London have played down the chances of Dean Smith’s side securing his services.
NOU BARGAIN
Arsenal are interested in signing Ajax right-back Noussair Mazraoui, according to Estadio Deportivo.
And the Eredivisie champion could be available for a half-price fee of just £9 million.
Mazraoui is out of contract in 2022 and it is believed Ajax would rather sell him now rather than lose him for nothing next summer.
Bayern Munich are also said to be keen on the 23-year-old.
If the Emirates is his destination, Mazraoui will be expected to replace Real Betis target Hector Bellerin in Mikel Arteta’s side.
GUNNER STAY
Arsenal reportedly remain fully confident Emile Smith Rowe will pen a new deal at the Emirates despite reported interest from Aston Villa.
With his current contract to expire in 2023, it has been claimed that the North Londoners are keen to hand him a new five-year deal.
But shock rumours have stated that Villa are looking to lure him to the Midlands.
However Football.London have played down the chances of Dean Smith’s side securing his services.
And they have insisted that Arsenal remain confident that Smith Rowe will commit his long-term future to the club.
His contract renewal is said to be a priority for Arsenal’s head of football operations Richard Garlick.
OLYMPIC DREAM
Gabriel Magalhaes is hoping that Arsenal will agree to release him for the Olympic Games this summer, if he earns a place in the Brazil squad for the event.
Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli are currently with the Brazil Olympic squad for the latest international break between May 31 and June 8.
It’s not confirmed just yet, but they’re likely to be called up for the actual Olympics later in the summer as well.
Speaking to the Brazilian media, Gabriel seemed hopeful that the Gunners would release him if he gets the call-up.
He told Globo Esporte: “I believe that at the right time and in case of a summons, CBF and Arsenal will talk and reach an agreement.
“At the moment I want to keep my head centred on these friendlies and preparation to guarantee a place in the Olympics.”
GUNNERS MISS TARGET
Sergio Aguero’s father has revealed that Arsenal and Chelsea expressed an interest in signing his son.
The 33-year-old frontman has departed City as the club’s all-time leading scorer, with the experienced Argentine opting to run down his contract and make a move to Barcelona on a free transfer.
Opportunities were there for a prolific presence to remain in England , but they were passed up in favour of joining fellow countryman Lionel Messi at Camp Nou.
Leonel Del Castillo has told Radio La Red of Aguero’s decision to head for Catalunya: “He is happy right now after signing for Barcelona. I see him happy.
“He didn’t know what was going to happen with his future. There were several clubs interested in signing him. Arsenal were interested in him and Chelsea to the last minute. If he didn’t stay in England, it was going to be Italy or Spain.
“He’s been friends with Lionel Messi since they were 15 and they’ve always talked. It looks like Messi is going to stay at Barcelona so they’re going to play together.”
