ANDY ROBERTSON has swiftly deleted a clip of him playing table tennis with Billy Gilmour after the latter tested positive for Covid-19.
Scotland were rocked on Monday morning when news broke that Chelsea’s midfielder had been ruled out of the crunch Euro 2020 clash with Croatia tomorrow.
The Daily Mail claims the Scottish FA said the 20-year-old ace had no close contacts in the squad.
But soon after the Gilmour news was announced a clip surfaced from the squad’s team hotel of the young star playing ping-pong.
It was originally posted on Liverpool left-back Robertson’s Instagram story and showed him, Gilmour and John McGinn in table tennis action.
But the video has now been removed from the 27-year-old full-back’s account.
Gilmour, who was widely-praised for his display in the goalless draw with England on Friday, will now self-isolate for 10 days and miss the Scots’ final Group D game at Hampden Park.
A Scottish FA statement read: “The Scottish FA can confirm that a member of the Scotland National Team playing squad, Billy Gilmour, has tested positive for Covid-19.
“Having liaised with Public Health England since the positive test was recorded, Billy will now self-isolate for 10 days and therefore miss tomorrow’s Uefa EURO 2020 Group D match against Croatia at Hampden.”
All other Covid tests within the Scotland camp returned negative this morning while the Scottish FA are in talks with Public Health England regarding ‘close contacts’, but none have been identified.
