FRANK BRUNO claimed Tyson Fury would get ‘eaten for dinner’ in his classic heavyweight era.
Bruno heroically won the WBC title in 1995, after previous losses to legends Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.
Now the current champion Fury has built a bond and friendship with the British boxing icon.
But it did not stop Bruno from admitting the Gypsy King would have been out of his depth in his generation.
Talking to DAZN, he said: “He knows deep down in his heart if he was around in my day, they’d eat him for dinner, and breakfast as well.
“I’m not going to sit here and disrespect Tyson Fury, but we’re talking about a different era. He’s living on a different cloud to what I was on.
“Good luck to him, he’s number one, he deserves to be number one. I’ve got a lot of respect for him.”
Fury, 33, most recently knocked out Deontay Wilder, 33, in round 11 of their epic October trilogy bout.

And with Anthony Joshua, 32, set to rematch Oleksandr Usyk, 34, following his September loss, an undisputed decider is off the cards for now.
Instead, the WBC have ordered Fury to defend his belt against long-time rival and mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, 33.
Not since Bruno’s 1993 loss to Lewis, 56, in Cardiff has Britain had such a blockbuster domestic world title fight.
Bruno, 60, said: “It’s a good fight, Dillian Whyte is very powerful. Tyson Fury is dangerous and can box.
“What he’s learned, Dillian Whyte wouldn’t know, it would break him. If he [Whyte] hits Fury he’ll hit the floor.
“Tyson Fury is going to show him some movements and upset him. He can adapt.
“If you’re southpaw he can southpaw, if you dig deep he can dig deep.
“He fought the most dangerous man on the planet, Deontay Wilder, who threw his toys out of the pram.”
