OSCAR DE LA HOYA has admitted the prospect of fighting Gennady Golovkin is tempting him into a stunning comeback.
The 47-year-old retired from the ring following his defeat against the legendary Manny Pacquiao 12 years ago.

De La Hoya, an 11-time world champion in six weight classes, revealed he is poised to follow in the footsteps of Mike Tyson and return to the sport.
Last month the American said fighting current IBF and IBO middleweight champ Golovkin would be ‘easy work.’
And he has further thrown fuel on the fire by claiming a scrap is a ‘consideriation’.
Speaking to MSN, De La Hoya said: “It is a serious proposition. The main reason is because I love it and I miss it.
“Golovkin is a very strong fighter, but I’ve always said if he fights Canelo one more time, he’s very, very vulnerable because Canelo looked amazing [against Callum Smith].
“He looked fast, he looked strong. But, yes, he is a consideration, Golovkin.”
A nine-year age gap exists between the fighters with Golovkin, 38, still very much an active fighter after beating Kamil Szeremeta last month.
De La Hoya has also being linked with fighting Marcos Maidana as well as Canelo following their acrimonious split.

But he also called out Floyd Mayweather and wants a shot at redemption after his loss on a split decision in 2007.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, the ‘Golden Boy’ said: “I’ve always prided myself in fighting the very best, and why go after the second-best?.
‘Why not go after the guy that beat [Canelo]? Why not go after [Floyd] Mayweather, for instance, in a revenge fight?
“That’s something that’s very intriguing. We’ll see how I feel, and then we’ll take it from there.”
