JOSH WARRINGTON’s rematch against Mauricio Lara was STOPPED as a technical draw after Lara’s cut saw the fight end in a no contest.

A nasty clash of heads in the second round meant the fight ended in a frustrating draw in front of Warrington’s home crowd in Leeds.

Eddie Hearn said after he will try and get Warrington out again as soon as possible, with Lara’s eye cut set to keep the Mexican on the sidelines.

  • WARRINGTON GUTTED

    Josh Warrington is gutted with how the fight ended, especially for the fans who paid to see him get redemption.

    He told DAZN: “All these people wanted to see me get redemption tonight.

    “I thought I opened him up with a punch in the first round, but a clash of styles, my head hit him.

    “I’m absolutely gutted.”

    Are we heading for a third fight?

    Unbelievable…. both fighters are extremely disappointed with the way the fight has ended.

    Lara tries steps in and looks to catch Warrington with a left hook, followed by a right.

    But Warrington is one step ahead and dodges everything Lara throws at him.

    So far so good for the Brit.

    Lara gives it a good go and throws a series of punches.

    There’s a slight clash of heads and there’s a cut just about Lara’s left eye.

    Horrible cut.

    The medical team will try and clean him up in time for round three.

    Benn backs his opponent up against the ropes, lands a body shot before connecting with a left hook.
