But the Irishman was knocked out by Dustin Poirier – the man he beat in 2014 – a month later in dramatic fashion.

Poirier, 32, then won the trilogy bout in July after McGregor, 33, broke his tibia seconds before the end of round one.

The former two-weight UFC champion was blasted for his pre and post-fight trash talk, which included threatening to KILL his American rival.

And Paul also hit out at McGregor as he taunted the UFC poster boy.

He told MMA Fighting: “Look, he’s this guy that was the s*** for so long and was the centre of attention, and now his career has plummeted.

“He’s falling off. He’s 1-3 in five years and it seems as if people don’t really care. He’s disrespectful. Even to the point where it’s too far.

“There’s a point in this where it’s like, cool, yeah. It’s the fight game. I said what I said, get over it.

“Talk as much s*** as you want but there’s a point where you look dumb.

“It’s not even that he’s being disrespectful, he just looks dumb with the sh*t he’s saying, threatening to kill people.

“Then he’s out partying, back to drinking, hitting the clubs in L.A. I don’t know, man.

“I think it’s over for him and I don’t think his ego can maybe accept that.”

Jake Paul entered elite company

Paul faces ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, 39, in his fourth and toughest fight to date on August 29.

So far, he has only beaten online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and most recently retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 37.

Paul has continued to feud the UFC roster and president Dana White and has McGregor’s old rival Nate Diaz, 36, in his nearby plans.

He said: “I think that’s a huge fight between us and I’m ready for that. Anyone, any time, any place.

“I think Nate Diaz versus Jake Paul fight is probably more interesting than a Jake Paul versues drunk Conor McGregor fight.”
