Jake Paul offered world title shot against cruiserweight king Mairis Briedis on condition he QUITS boxing if he loses

JAKE PAUL has been offered a crack at Mairis Briedis’ IBF and Ring Magazine cruiserweight titles.

The YouTuber’s brash antics have ruffled plenty of feathers in the boxing world, with many fight fans wanting him out of the sport.

But Latvian Briedis is willing to offer the younger Paul brother a chance at getting his hands on a pair of world titles.

In a video on his social media channels, The Punisher said: “Hey Jake, look I’m dressed like you, but one thing you’re missing is a belt.

“And this belt, money cannot buy.”

Briedis’ promoters are keen to make the fight – but on the condition Paul quits boxing if he loses.

They tweeted: “Hey Jake Paul – happy to arrange you taking a shot at Mairis Briedis belts, only condition if you lose you have to leave boxing… deal?”

Briedis’ callout of Paul baffled Brit Lawrence Okolie, who is eyeing a unification fight with the 36-year-old.

The Sauce tweeted: “I CANNOT BELIVE (sic) WHAT I’M SEEING! This HAS to be a joke.”

Okolie, 28, revealed his eagerness to face Briedis after claiming the WBO strap in March.

He said: “A lot of the things I have used in this division, like my size and strength, will not work for me at heavyweight.

“There is a lot more learning to do and still some big fights at cruiserweight because I want to unify.

“Briedis is my next target because I believe he is the best in the division and I want another step up.”

Jake Paul has become one of the most-talked about stars in boxing

Although Brieids is keen to share the ring with Paul, the social media star has set his sights on bigger fish.

Paul, who stretched his record to 3-0 last month with a brutal first-round knockout of ex-MMA star Ben Askren, is currently eyeing a clash with UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

He told Chael Sonnen: “There’s conversations happening.

“I believe Kamaru’s manager is already in talks with Dana [White, UFC boss], and I think that’s all I can say.

“One hundred per cent, I’m down for all the smoke. I want all the smoke. Daniel Cormier, another example.”
