THERE’s been few boxers in history who can touch Floyd Mayweather Jr for pure talent.
A fifteen-time world champion over five weight classes, ‘Money’ retired as a pro in 2015 with a perfect 50-0 record.
Since hanging up his gloves, Mayweather returned in 2017 for a bout with MMA star Conor McGregor and now will step into the ring against Logan Paul on June 6.
What is Floyd Mayweather’s net worth?
Famed for his lavish lifestyle, Mayweather isn’t known as Money for nothing.
In 2018, he was recognised as the most paid athlete in the world and was estimated to have raked in £195m that year alone.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mayweather was a Box Office smash and wherever he fought, people paid money to watch.
As such, he was a hugely lucrative pay-per-view attraction and even formed his own promotional firm – Mayweather Productions.
It’s estimated that throughout his pro career, Mayweather garnered over 24 million PPV purchases which generated well over £1bn.
His exhibition fight against Paul comes after a similar clash with Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018.
And Money is expected to make a fortune from the clash in Miami, with SportingFree suggesting he is in line for over £70million once PPV buys have been factored in.
Mayweather claims he is now a billionaire – at least in dollars – and that he reached that level of wealth after his mega-fight with McGregor.
He explained: “I’ve made a billion.
“I’ve reached that four years ago. [Now I’m] over $1.2billion…
“I knew from the beginning I was the best in boxing, from day one.
“I just knew I was better than every other fighter. There will never be a fighter better than me, never.”
As of 2021, Mayweather Jr’s net worth is estimated by WealthyGorilla to be £318m.
And Forbes confirm that he has amassed over $1bn in prize money, with a bumper pay-day against Paul still to come.
