CANELO ALVAREZ has vowed to beat Gennady Golovkin’s ‘f***ing face in’ over comments he made about his failed drug test.
Canelo tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug Clenbuterol in March 2018 ahead of his rematch with GGG.
The Mexican attributed the positive test to tainted meat he’d eaten in his homeland, an excuse that didn’t wash with Golovkin.
The Khazakh said: “It’s not Mexican meat… Canelo is cheating. They’re using these drugs.”
Canelo hasn’t forgotten about Golovkin’s allegation, telling Graham Bensinger: “I am going to just really beat his f***ing face in.
“That’s what I said. I think that I’ve never been disrespectful to my rivals, or any of that because you have to be respectful always.
“But he was one of the persons who I have most wanted to cut their head off.”
Canelo, 30, continues to maintain his innocence, adding: “All meat here, has clenbuterol.

“If you eat a piece of meat here, you go and get tested; you’re going to test positive for clenbuterol. But that’s not doping.”
He continued: “These aren’t steroids.
“What happened was not steroids, they’re not catalogued as steroids.
“After what happened to me, they made it legal, a certain percentage legal. Because a lot exists.”
Canelo is currently gearing up for a super-middleweight title unification bout with Brit Billy Joe Saunders.

The pride of Mexico will lock horns with the undefeated Saunders next Sunday morning in front of a sold-out crowd at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Welwyn warrior Saunders goes into his clash with the pound-for-pound king as a huge underdog but has vowed to shock the world and hand him his second professional defeat.
He told talkSPORT: “I’m the seventh Brit he’s faced, he’s dealt with six of them very comfortably.
“The Brits like dancing and moving and thinking they’ve gotta run away, but I will be there for him to hit.
“I will be in range for him to hit. I’ll be setting traps, the same as he’ll be setting traps.
“I don’t think running a million miles an hour is gonna do me any justice. He’s not got the best engine in the world, Canelo.
“He’s very good at what he does, extremely good at what he does, but there’s faults there.
“We’ve seen people try to run away and box him, we’ve seen people try to use the brawn, but we’ve only seen one man use his brain and that was Floyd Mayweather.
“Brain over brawn here. Brain wins this, technical thinking wins this.”
