Bob Arum interested in Tyson Fury fight with Dillian Whyte next after Deontay Wilder and Otto Wallin matchups

TOP RANK chief Bob Arum is open to giving Dillian Whyte his long-awaited crack at Tyson Fury.

Brixton banger Whyte has been the mandatory challenger for Fury’s WBC strap for nearly 1500 days but has been frozen out of the title picture.

But Arum is willing to give the Body Snatcher his shot at heavyweight gold should he beat Swede Otto Wallin and Fury retain the title in his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.

He told iFL TV: “I haven’t spoken to [WBC President] Mauricio [Sulaiman] yet, we will have to see [what they rule on Fury’s mandatory].

“I assume you are talking about Dillian Whyte, who is the number one contender.

“And that could be a big, big fight for Tyson, particularly if we held it in UK.

“That is not out of the question, Dillian Whyte is a capable heavyweight and a fight against Tyson Fury or Wilder [or] whoever wins would be a very interesting fight.”

Whyte, 33, has grown tired of Fury’s trash talk in recent months and recently accused him of swerving their mandatory clash.

He told SunSport: “His best attribute as a boxer is just getting the public to believe any of his bull****.

“I am the easiest boxer in the world to make a fight with.

“You call me or my people, offer us the venue, date and purse and we say yes or no. But Fury and his team talk rubbish.

“They have no interest in ever fighting me, he has been mandated to fight me twice and ducked out of it — the same as he did with the Wladimir Klitschko rematch he swerved.”

Fury, 33, will renew his rivalry with Wilder in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning.

But like a lot of boxing fans, Whyte isn’t fussed about the third chapter of the pair’s story.

Bob Arum on a pontential fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte

He said: “No one wants to see this third Wilder fight.

“British fans can’t fly over there, it’s going to be on at 5am, so he’s using my name to try to mug fans off again into buying into his b*.

“They’ve had nearly two years to build the fight — and still no one is interested.

“They can’t even give the tickets away.”

How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight

He added: “He’s play-acting that the fight is happening. It’s a joke.

“As I’ve said before, the WBC need to put him into recess and let me take care of business.

“The heavyweight title has only been contested five times in four years, against three opponents. It’s a disgrace.”
