Anthony Joshua’s net worth grows to huge £115m in past year as he prepares for Usyk after Fury fight was KO’d by Wilder

ANTHONY JOSHUA’s net worth has reportedly increased to a whopping £115million – despite his recent lack of activity.

The unified heavyweight champion of the world has amassed millions of pounds pounding out his opponents in the ring.

AJ pocketed a cool £10m for his December 2020 victory over Kubrat Pulev, although his cut of the pay-per-view revenue is currently unknown.

And according to the celebrity portion of The Sunday Times’ Rich List, that payday took Joshua’s worth to £115m.

The increase of Joshua’s net worth paled in comparison to the one he experienced in 2019.

The Olympic gold medallist more than doubled his worth to £107m courtesy of back-to-back fights with Andy Ruiz Jr in New York and Saudi Arabia.

Joshua’s net worth would’ve increased exponentially in the summer had his proposed fight with Tyson Fury not fallen through.

AJ was set to face his fellow Brit in a heavyweight title unification fight in Saudi Arabia on August 14.

But the bout fell through earlier this week when a judge ruled former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is still contractually entitled to a trilogy fight with Fury.

Team Joshua have pivoted to an August showdown with former undisputed cruiserweight champ Oleksandr Usyk.

Negotiations over the bout are ongoing, with Joshua recently hinting he will indeed share the ring with the Ukrainian.

On Friday, the 31-year-old posted a snap of himself staring at Usyk after knocking out Alexander Povetkin in September 2018 to his Snapchat.

The accompanying caption read: “Everyday is war.”

According to Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassuyk, Wembley is in the running to host the bout.

He told Sky Sports: “WBO has to issue the official enforcement for the mandatory today.

“According to my knowledge, AJ is ready to take the challenge.

“It may happen anywhere including Wembley, but yet no serious venue commitments have been made.”

Joshua was relishing the opportunity to get his hands on Fury, so much so he launched a blistering attack on The Gypsy King when it became apparent their long-awaited clash was in jeopardy.

He tweeted: “@Tyson_Fury the world now sees you for the fraud you are. You’ve let boxing down!

“You lied to the fans and led them on. Used my name for clout not a fight.

“Bring me any championship fighter who can handle their business correctly.”

After a fired-up Fury challenged him to a bare-knuckle fight, Joshua added: “If there was an arbitration going on, why announce to the world we are fighting!

“The fight was signed! UNDISPUTED. Bare knuckle? You’re a good kid, don’t play with me Luke!

“I’ll slap your bald head & you’ll do nothing! Waste man.”
