Cairo, Egypt, January 8, 2020 – Tunisia used their serves to beat Cameroon in straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-18) in their Olympic qualifiers opener at the Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt on Wednesday.
Tunisian coach Antonio Giaccobe was satisfied with the result, but warned his team’s next match would be a difficult one.

“When we win I’m happy and I don’t analyze the match too much,” he said.

“The start of the match was difficult, but the team started to find their rhythm and then everything went well.

“Our game against Egypt tomorrow will be difficult as usual. When we play against them, the result is always unpredictable.”

Cameroon coach Blaise Mayam had to admit his team faced a number of challenges against the Tunisians, not least their serve.

“We couldn’t deal with the strong serves of the Tunisian team. We had a lot of problems to receive the first ball and this was the main cause of our loss.

“I think also the weather conditions specially the very cold hall affected our performance. We aren’t used to play in such conditions in Cameroon.
