FIVB launches Referee Resource Centre for aspiring officials

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 3, 2020 – The FIVB has opened access to the Referee Resource Centre for all up-and-coming referees to assist in their development.
As part of the FIVB’s ongoing commitment to referee education, the Referee Resource Centre is the FIVB’s online educational programme, open to new and prospective referees with an interest in learning more about officiating and honing their skills.
The Referee Resource Centre is free to access and enables content to be downloaded, both for the individual referee for self-directed improvement at their own pace, or may be used as a non-profit teaching aid to assist in the development of referees by NF’s. The aim of the centre is to unify referees around the world by fostering a greater understanding and to establish a quality of officiating that is consistent around the world.
Following the launch, FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça Fᵒ said:
“To ensure athletes can show their best on the court, we also need to give them the best referees and officials. The FIVB is working hard to give young referees all the tools they need to succeed and the Referee Resource Centre is another example of this.”
Earlier this month, the FIVB Refereeing and Rules of the Game Commission met to discuss plans for the future of volleyball officiating, as well as the important role of technology and innovation in reaching the right result.
