Lausanne, Switzerland, February 26, 2020 – She’s undoubtedly one of the greatest volleyball players in the world, and although Korea’s Kim Yeon-koung will sadly not be celebrating her birthday on the courts today, it seems she’s on her way back.
Kim was injured during the Asian Olympic qualifiers at the beginning of the year, as she powered Korea on their way to a ticket for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and has been out of commission since.
She briefly returned to Turkey, where she plays for Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul in the Turkish League and the European Champions League, but has since gone back home to Korea for treatment to her abdominal injuries.
It’s still unclear exactly when Kim will be back on court, but progress seems to be encouraging and her fans may see her back in action sooner, rather than later.
