YAYA TOURE has slammed Pep Guardiola’s latest Champions League failure, saying the Spaniard was brought in to finally win the trophy.
The Etihad legend, 37, let rip at his former boss, after City once again fell short.

Guardiola and Co were stunned 3-1 by Lyon in the quarter-finals – forced to wait another year to launch another European push.
And Toure revealed the wait for a Champions League trophy is “disappointing”.
Toure – who endured a famously rocky relationship with Guardiola – told Football Daily: ‘The manager has been signed for that… just to bring this trophy.
“When you see Liverpool and other clubs who [have won it] without doing a lot of work in the transfer market, it’s quite strange and disappointing.”
Man City have spent close to £700million since Guardiola arrived in 2016.
But the former Premier League champions have been accused at aimlessly throwing money at some players.
At the moment he’s not delivered. Sometimes it’s time to change the way they do things.

A number of signings have gone to become huge-money flops, such as Benjamin Mendy and John Stones – both brought in for around £50m apiece.
Toure even suggested Guardiola could be sacked for his inability to win the Champions League despite his monster spending.
The ex-Ivory Coast international said: “He’s been brought to the club to get a massive trophy for them.
“At the moment it’s not been delivered in the way they want.
“Everyone knows Pep is a great manager.
“But at the moment when things are not going their way, sometimes it’s time to change the way they do things. We’ll see.”

Toure never saw eye-to-eye with Guardiola, which led him quitting the club to join Olympiacos in 2018.
The former midfielder even went on to say his old boss’ reputation was a “myth” during an interview held shortly after his Etihad departure.
In 2018, Toure roared: “Pep likes to dominate and wants to have obedient players who lick his hands.
“I do not like this kind of relationship. I respect my coach but I am not his thing.
“Like all players I have bickered with my coaches – but at a certain point men who do not understand each other reconcile.
“This is not possible with Pep, who is very rigid.
“The other players will never admit it publicly but some have already told me that they ended up hating him.
“Because he manipulates and plays a lot with your head.

“We always looked at each other weirdly.
“He was spinning around me without saying anything, watching me, gauging me but not talking to me.
“Yet he knows that I speak Catalan, Spanish and English. It should be enough to communicate.
“But apparently, no… every time we passed each other, he seemed embarrassed, as if I made him a little self-conscious…. as if, also, he had understood that I knew him perfectly.”
