Why is Edinson Cavani not playing for Man Utd vs Newcastle and when can he make his debut for the club?

MANCHESTER UNITED will be without Edinson Cavani for Saturday’s game against Newcastle.

The 33-year-old joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on a free transfer on deadline day.

But Cavani will have to wait a little longer before he can make his Red Devils debut.

Why is Cavani not playing vs Newcastle?

The striker has had to self isolate for two weeks following his move to England.

This has ruled him out of this weekend’s showdown against Steve Bruce’s side.

But Cavani has been training hard at home to ensure he is ready for his debut.

The Uruguay ace has even been pictured wearing his United kit while working out.

When will Cavani make his debut?

Cavani is in line to make his United debut against his old club Paris Saint-Germain.

United face the French giants in the Champions League on October 20.

The striker will be available as he will be out of self-isolation by then.

It is likely that he will start on the bench, but he could make a late appearance.

When is Man Utd vs Newcastle?

Newcastle vs Man Utd takes place on Saturday night.

The match at St James’ Park will kick off off at 8pm.

Sky Sports Box Office will be showing the fixture for a price of £14.95.
