THE day all Premier League fans have been waiting for has finally come.

Manchester City are hosting Arsenal as the Premier League is set to return with a bang, with Aston Villa vs Sheffield United due to kick off the big restart.

These two matches are games in hand from earlier in the campaign and once they are all complete, every Prem team will have nine games remaining.

What time is the first Premier League game due to start?

  • The blockbuster clash between City and Arsenal is set to follow straight on after Aston Villa against the Blades.
  • That opening game will take place at Villa Park on Wednesday, June 17 at 6pm (BST) which is 1pm EST.
  • The game is due to be played behind closed doors, as is every other Premier League game making it sombre restart.

Coverage from Villa Park begins at 5pm, while coverage for Manchester City vs Arsenal begins at 7.45pm.

The Premier League kicks off today but there are plenty more games to enjoy over the weekend.

More Premier League action will resume on Friday 19 June with Norwich v Southampton at 6pm followed by Tottenham v Manchester United 8.15pm.
