Watch Toni Kroos score direct from a corner as Real Madrid take on Valencia in Spanish Super Cup

REAL MADRID star Toni Kroos scored directly from a CORNER in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Valencia.

The game was just 15 minutes old when the German international announced himself in the most spectacular of styles.

And he meant every bit of it too.

The 30-year-old looked up and spotted Valencia keeper Jaume Domenech well off his line.

Then with a beautiful swing of his right boot, Kroos pinged the ball into the near corner of the goal.

Unsurprisingly, his skills were heralded on social medial.

KROOS THE WIZARD

Emmanuel Amo Nyarko described him as “a hero”, while Chimeze Goodluck wrote that he was “a real wizard”.

Atif Khan posted that he was “world class” with another fan adding that it “should win the Puskas”.

That is the award, in memory of the Real Madrid legend Ferenc Puskas, given to the best goal scored in a season.

Kroos’ side ended up winning 3-1 against Valencia as Isco and Luka Modric netted.

But few Spanish fans were able to see it as broadcasters shun the tournament amid controversy over human rights’ abuses.

Public broadcaster RTVE refused to enter the bidding for television rights, citing the Saudi regime’s widely-criticised treatment of women.

Many have praised the channel for taking a stand with each team’s fans largely staying away too.

Scarcely ten per cent of the 12,000 available to the four clubs have been sold, according to local media.

UNITED NEXT STOP FOR TONI?

SunSport revealed a few days ago how Kroos could move to Manchester United this month as partof a deal taking Paul Pogba the other way.

United have been in for the 29-year-old Kroos before and could reignite their interest once more.

He came close to joining from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2014 – when he won the World Cup with Germany – but ended up at the Bernabeu.

If no such deal is agreed, Real will want Kroos, 29, to move somewhere else to make space for Pogba.

United slapped a £180million price-tag on Pogba in the summer to scare off potential buyers.

But things have changed since then and he could now leave for £100m.
