Watch Shkodran Mustafi ignore Arsenal team-mate Gabriel’s instructions which could have prevented Jamie Vardy goal

THIS is the moment Shkodran Mustafi appears to ignore instructions from teammate Gabriel Magalhes which could have prevented Jamie Vardy’s winner for Leicester against Arsenal.

The Foxes superstar came off the bench to net an 80th minute header at the Emirates.

It marked Leicester’s first win at Arsenal in 47 years.

And Vardy’s effort also spoiled Thomas Partey’s home debut following his £40million deadline day switch from Atletico Madrid.

The game also saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang make it five league matches in a row without scoring.

But Arsenal could have ended the game with a point had Mustafi paid attention to defensive partner Gabriel in the latter stages.

As Leicester midfielder Nampalys Mendy took the ball, Gabriel pointed to a space for Mustafi to drop into for cover.

However, the German ignored his Brazilian counterpart.

And a few passes from Leicester forced Gabriel to track to his left in order to close down winger Cengiz Under.

However, he failed to stop a cross going in from the on-loan Turk, leaving plenty of space for Vardy to run into as Mustafi only just realised his own positional blunder.

Vardy pounced onto the pass and fired in a powerful header, securing a famous win for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Mustafi’s latest error raises more questions about his Arsenal future.

The German’s contract expires at the end of the season, and fresh reports claim he has rejected the offer of an extension.

That means Mustafi can open talks with foreign clubs over a free transfer in January.
