Watch Roy Keane’s furious rant at Man Utd for HUGGING rivals after drab derby as legend says Man City can’t win title

ROY KEANE questioned Manchester United and City’s desire to win and was left infuriated by both sets of players hugging following the drab derby draw.

The Red Devils and Cityzens produced a forgettable stalemate at Old Trafford on Saturday night with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola appearing happy to take a point.

City had the greater attacking threat but David de Gea only had one real save to make, while United were awarded a penalty in the second half only for VAR to overrule the decision as Marcus Rashford was offside in the build-up.

The usually intense fixture produced only two yellow cards, and it finished with John Stones and Harry Maguire enjoying a hug and pleasantries at full time.

Former United captain Keane was in attendance at the match as a pundit for Sky Sports, and he was left baffled and mystified afterwards.

In another of his famed rants, the Irishman said: “We can make a lot of excuses but just on today’s game, really poor.

“I’m looking at teams towards the end of the game with the quality they’ve got the desire to try and win the game of football?

“We’ve got two bookings in a derby game, I’ve never seen so many hugs and chats after a game. It’s a derby game, I’m scratching my head, I’m really frustrated because you’ve got to go and win the game.

“You have to try and find a way to win a game of football.”

He continued: “The lack of quality and end product from both teams was really poor and I’m really disappointed.

“These clubs have had success over the last few years from trying to win matches. You’ve got to gamble a bit.

“I’m not saying getting seven or eight people in the box. You don’t settle for draws.”

Stones told Sky Sports afterwards he was happy with the clean sheet – but Keane was having none of it.

He added: “Listening to John Stones talking about clean sheets and blah blah blah.

“Liverpool and Spurs are doing well but you’ve got to try and hunt teams down.

“At the end of the game the staff were smiling and hugging, players chatting – just get down the tunnel. I don’t get it. Everyone wants to be pals and be popular.

“You’re playing for Man United your job is to win football matches not to be mates with everybody.”

And on City’s title chances, Keane said:

“I am surprised at City. They looked like a team that is bored.

“They have to go and win the league. City have no option but to win the league.

“At the end it may build confidence and they go on a run but this isn’t what City or Pep should want.

“They are a shadow of the team that won the league two years ago. They are nowhere near.

“We are already looking back and referring to the team that was a few years ago and how good it was compared to now.

“City could surprise us and win the league but they look like all the juice has been squeezed out of the orange.”
