Watch Roy Keane slam ‘idiot’ Kyle Walker after ‘car crash defending’ against Sadio Mane handed Liverpool penalty

ROY KEANE slammed “idiot” Kyle Walker after his “car crash defending” of Sadio Mane handed Liverpool a penalty in Sunday evening’s clash.

The England right-back, 30, hacked down Mane early in the first-half at the Etihad, with Salah slotting home the resulting penalty.

And at half-time, Sky Sports pundit Keane couldn’t hold back his rage, slamming him for making yet another mistake.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane was simply asked how Mane earned himself a penalty.

And the ex-Manchester United hardman roared: “Because he’s up against an idiot.

“Kyle Walker… people tell me he’s playing well. I don’t think so.

“This guy is 30 years of age, he’s an international… he’s a car crash.

“He keeps making these types of mistakes – and he’s been rightly punished for it.”

But fellow Sky Sports pundit – and ex-City star – Micah Richards disagreed with Keane’s hard stance.

Richards replied: “He’s been in good form – I think Roy’s gone a bit overboard.

“He’s one of City’s best players, but he gambled there… he should have just waited.

“He gambled and before you know it, Mane was there and he took him down.”

Before City’s clash with Liverpool, Walker revealed he “deserved to be dropped” by England as he’d started to take it for granted.

Walker had been exiled for eight months before Gareth Southgate claimed he’d never pick the Man City star again after he broke lockdown rules with a sex party in April.

The defender was subsequently recalled in August, but was sent-off against Iceland in his first game back.

Walker admitted he feared his England career was over after the mistake.
