SOUTH AFRICAN side Mamelodi Sundowns showed they are the masters of time-wasting after they swapped their corner taker FOUR times against Bloem Celtic.
The Premier Division title challengers saw the set piece as the perfect chance to wind down the clock as they looked to protect their 2-1 lead.
Mamelodi Sundowns ran down the clock in spectacular fashion against Bloem Celtic
The Sundowns – embroiled in a battle for the league championship with Kaizer Chiefs – won a corner in the 81st minute.
And by the time they had actually taken it, they had successfully managed to kill over two minutes, while three of their players were booked for their troubles.
Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Sirino, 29, was the first man to place the ball on the quadrant, but just as he looked set to take it, he ran away.
Sirino was subsequently shown a yellow by referee Cedric Muvhali.
South Africa international Sibusiso Vilakazi, 30, then came over, and after re-positioning the ball, decided to take huge steps back before just standing around.
The referee once again rushed over and cautioned him, with Vilakazi then swapping duties with Hlempho Kekana.
Kekana then did exactly the same thing as what Vilakazi did, with Muvhali yet again brandishing the yellow card.

The Celtics players were furious with the Sundowns time-wasting tactics
By this time a number of Celtic players were surrounding the referee in protest at the Sundowns tactics, while their manager Lehlohonolo Seema simply laughed on the sidelines.
Original taker Sirino then came over to take the corner, before the Sundowns subbed off Kekana to waste even further time.
Sundowns held on for the win to close the gap on leaders Chiefs to four points.
