Watch as Brentford keeper gets nutmegged from halfway line to concede absolute howler against Hull

BRENTFORD demolished Hull 5-1 despite keeper David Raya conceding one of the worst goals of the season.

With Brentford two-nil up after 27 minutes, the keeper was amazingly nutmegged from a hopeful long ball up the pitch from the HALFWAY line.

Brentford keeper David Raya’s howler

The ball came back to Raya at speed and he nonchalantly tried to control it but succeeded in making a complete hash of it as it bungled through his legs and into the net.

Brentford had led through goals from Said Benrahma and a Reece Burke own goal.

But Raya’s calamitous 28th-minute own goal gave the hosts hope at the KCOM Arena.

And Bees boss Thomas Frank’s reaction to the goal was hilarious as he stared wide-eyed after the howler.

He was clearly unimpressed with Raya’s football skills.

But he would have been pleased to see his side kick on to coast to victory.

Benrahama went on to score a hat-trick after Ollie Watkins’ goal to finish the game 5-1.

It was the Tigers’ first match since selling striker and talisman Jarrod Bowen for £22m to West Ham.

It was a difficult transfer window for boss Gavin McCann.

He also lost Markus Henkriksen to Bristol City.

Hull were 14th in the table going into today’s clash.

Brentford are in the play-off places and were looking for a win to climb three points behind second-placed West Brom ahead of their match.
