VIRGIL VAN DIJK has made himself the guardian angel of Liverpool’s locked-down young stars.
And as captain of Holland he makes sure his international pals are coping as well.

Jurgen Klopp’s Kop kids are top of his watchlist as he makes his round of telephone calls every day.
Van Dijk, 28, said: “I speak to certain boys. The same goes for the national team.
“I try to get in touch and see how everyone is.”
Van Dijk insists it is vital no one walks alone and is determined to help maintain a caring society both on Merseyside and abroad.

The defender and his club team-mates are stuck on pause having taken a 25-point lead at the top of the Prem.
The wait for the club’s first top-flight title had already stretched to 30 years. But he stressed: “The unknown is the difficult part.
“You just have to be patient, do the right thing and stay at home.
“We will all get past this if we all do the right thing.”
The Liverpool players’ social media posts are being shared around the club on WhatsApp while boss Klopp has also given his players a talk.
Van Dijk said: “Everyone is doing their bit.”
Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard’s foundation has given £5,000 to foodbanks in Liverpool.
